Alpha Course

Alpha Course – Explore Life, Faith & Jesus

Alpha is a multi-week evangelistic course that creates a welcoming space where people can explore life, faith and Jesus, ask questions and openly share their perspectives.

Alpha is designed especially for people who are exploring the Christian faith or have questions about God. It is used by churches and Christian communities around the world as a practical tool for evangelism and faith exploration.

How Alpha Works

Each Alpha session normally includes three simple elements:

• Connect – participants spend time together, often around a meal or refreshments, building relationships in a relaxed environment.
• Talk – a video or live presentation explores an important question about life and the Christian faith.
• Discuss – participants talk openly about the topic, ask questions and share their own perspectives without pressure.

Topics introduce participants to the foundations of the Christian faith and explore questions such as who Jesus is, why He died, faith, prayer, the Bible, God’s guidance, the Holy Spirit, healing and how to live as a Christian.

Evangelism Through Relationships & Conversation

Alpha provides a relational approach to sharing the Gospel. Christians invite friends, colleagues, neighbors and others who are interested in exploring faith and accompany them through the course.

Rather than simply presenting information, Alpha creates space for relationships, honest questions and conversations about Jesus. Participants are free to explore Christianity and express their own views.

Different Contexts

Alpha can be run in many different settings, including:

• Churches and Christian communities
• Homes and small groups
• Cafés and other community spaces
• Workplaces
• Universities and schools
• Online
• Prisons

Specific resources are also available for contexts such as Alpha Youth and Catholic churches.
