Journey & Stations of Generosity – Biblical Generosity & Generous Disciples
Journey of Generosity (JOG) and Stations of Generosity (SOG) are biblical discipleship experiences that help Christians discover God’s heart of generosity and develop a lifestyle of faithful stewardship, joyful giving and Kingdom generosity.
Both approaches move beyond fundraising. Their primary focus is the transformation of the heart – helping followers of Jesus understand God’s generosity, surrender their resources to Him and live generously with everything God has entrusted to them.
Journey of Generosity (JOG)
Journey of Generosity is an interactive small-group experience developed to create meaningful conversations about faith, life, money and generosity.
Participants engage with Scripture, inspiring stories, videos, facilitated conversations and personal reflection. The experience provides space to listen to God and consider how biblical generosity should shape personal decisions, lifestyle, possessions and giving.
A distinctive principle of JOG is that participants are not asked for money and are not told where to give. The purpose is discipleship and heart transformation rather than fundraising.
Flexible JOG Formats
Journey of Generosity can be used with business leaders, professionals, church leaders, ministry leaders, families, friends and other groups.
Different formats are available, including:
- One-day experiences
- Retreat formats
- Week-by-week small groups
- Online experiences
- Church and leadership groups
People who experience JOG can also explore becoming equipped to facilitate the experience for others, helping biblical generosity multiply through relationships, churches and networks.
Stations of Generosity (SOG)
Stations of Generosity is a highly reproducible generosity discipleship experience designed especially for oral-preference cultures and grassroots movements.
It uses biblical stories, Discovery Bible Study, hand motions, drama, interactive activities and facilitated conversations to make biblical principles about God’s provision, possessions, stewardship and generosity easy to understand, remember and reproduce.
The core experience can be delivered as a two-day immersive training and followed by an eight-week Bible study process.
Seven Stations of Generosity
The Stations help participants discover a simple biblical pathway of generosity:
- God Owns Everything
- God Provides Enough
- God Gives Generously
- We Respond Lovingly
- We Hear God
- We Find Joy
- We Store Treasure
The simple stories, movements and participatory approach make SOG particularly useful where conventional classroom-based or written training is less effective.
Generosity as Disciple Making
Both JOG and SOG approach generosity as a discipleship issue. Followers of Jesus are encouraged to recognize that everything they have ultimately belongs to God and that generosity is part of following Jesus.
This includes more than financial giving. Biblical generosity involves faithfully stewarding time, abilities, relationships, possessions and financial resources for God’s purposes and for the benefit of others.
Multiplication & Local Mission
The resources are designed to help generosity become part of the discipleship culture of churches, ministries and Christian networks.
As generous disciples multiply, local believers and churches can increasingly mobilize resources already present within their communities to support evangelism, disciple making, church planting, compassion ministries and Great Commission initiatives.
